中文摘要 | C型肝炎在台灣具有極高之盛行率,單純以干擾素療法,並不能有效的殺死患者體內的病毒,而在台灣大多病患所感染的為HCV 1b之基因型,僅採用干擾素療法,療效較不顯著,目前在臨床上是將干擾素與抗病毒藥物-ribavirin合併使用,以期達到更佳的療效;此外,臨床上顯示,中藥小柴胡湯亦能經由免疫機制之調控,而達到抗病毒之目的。此篇研究顯示小柴胡湯能改變病患Cytokine的合成量,而調控免疫機制。經由本篇研究結果顯示,小柴胡湯能調控人類周邊淋巴細胞合成Cytokine的濃度,並經由關閉發炎反應來促進Th-1之反應,因此推測小柴胡湯亦可以改善肝炎臨床症狀,目前正進一步規劃建立in vitro模式以篩選出其中的有效成份。 |
英文摘要 | Chronic hepatitis C has a high prevalent rate in Taiwan. Current IFN-based therapy fails to eradicate virus from all the infected individuals, and has least effective for those who harbor genotype 1b Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), which is the predominant type found in Taiwan. Previous studies on Interferon (IFN)-ribavirin combined treatment and some herbal medicines such as Xiao Chai Hu Tang (XCHT) have linked their anti viral effects to immune modulation. In this study, we would 1ike to demonstrate that XCHT modulates host immune responses through the alteration of cytokine production profiles. Our preliminary results have demonstrated that the cytokine productions in Human Peripheral Blood Mononeucloid Cells (PBMCs) could be selectively regulated by XCHT. By turning off the inflammation responses and in the same time promoting T –he 1 per ce11 s-1 (Th-l) responses, XCHT may help to alleviate symptoms of hepatitis. Further studies for the candidate therapeutic pure compounds by using this in vitro screening model are in progress. |
