中文摘要 | 本研究基於凝集素廣泛分佈於各種類微細藻類之假設;分別於15種海洋微藻與16種淡水微藻萃取液中使用人類紅血球篩選凝集素。實驗結果顯示所篩選之31種微藻萃取液中,有27種藻類萃取液產生凝集作用。所有海洋微藻萃取液均能至少與人類A,B,O之任一種紅血球產生高凝集活性反應,反應活緎之力價約為26-224。而O型紅血球十分適合用於偵測海洋微藻之凝集活性。不同於海洋微藻,有四種不同淡水微藻萃取液無法被測定出凝集活性;此外,本實驗結果亦顯示篩選淡水微藻凝集素時,人類之B型紅血球較A或O型紅血球適合。由本實驗中可以清楚發現淡水微藻凝集素對人類紅血球反應時不具特異性,且其凝集活性較海洋微藻微弱。本實驗結果亦顯示,微藻萃取液保存於低溫下一段時間後會造成凝集活性性巨幅下降。 |
英文摘要 | We screened 15 marine and 16 freshwater microalgae for haemag-glutinin activity using human erythrocytes, on the assumption that heamagglutinins exist universally in all species of microalgae. Haemagglutinin activity occurred in 27 of the 31 species assayed. All the marine species assayed showed strong agglutinating activity against at least one type of human erythrocyte of the ABO blood groups, reaching titres of 26-224. O-type erythrocytes were the most suitable for detecting the haemagglutinating activity of all the marine algae. In contrast, four freshwater species showed no such activity. Human B-type erythrocytes were more suitable than A- or O-type erythrocytes for detecting the agglutinins of freshwater species. The freshwater microalgal haemagglutinins are not specific for human erythrocytes. Freshwater microalgae had lower agglutination titres than marine species. Algal agglutinating activity decreased dramatically or became inactive after storage for four months, even at extremely low temperatures. |
