英文摘要 | Many plastic are known to be chemically inert with low surface energy and poor wettablility and some adhesives and sealants may provide only marginal adhesion to certain plastic or metal substrates. Surface pretreatments are used to increase surface energy, improve the wetting and adhesive properties of polymer materials. A variety of surface treatment methods including plasma, corona, flame, thermal, UV, primer, wet chemical and mechanical treatments have been discussed. The importance of wetting and surface attracting force in adhesive bonding has also been discussed. Several practical examples of surface treatment for plastic and metal bonding applications with cyanoacrylate and anaerobic adhesive have been presented. |
