中文摘要 | 本研究分別以Cobb-Douglas 與Translog 兩種生產函數,就台灣六個主要草蝦養殖地區,共31個草蝦養殖戶之14年平衡資料(Balanced data) ,利用隨機生產邊界追蹤資料模型(Panel data model),加以分析台灣草蝦產業爆發蝦病前後之技術效率。分析結果顯示,Cobb-Douglas 可有效表達台灣草蝦產業的生產模式,因此本研究乃以此生產函數進行進一步之分析。在投入要素彈性方面,飼料、雇工及水電的彈性值分別為0.30 、0.07 及-0.03,而估計結果亦顯示台灣草蝦養殖產業具規模報酬遞減。此外,放養密度、養殖型態、活存率及疾病等因素對草蝦養殖之技術效率有顯著影響。在各區域草蝦養殖戶之平均技術效率值方面,在1987年蝦病發生前為0.79,較蝦病發生後之0.41為高,顯示蝦病對台灣草蝦養殖產業之技術效率影響甚巨。 |
英文摘要 | In this study, we examined the technical efficiency of black tiger prawn aquafarms before and after the shrimp diseases outbreak (1986-1999). Fourteen years balanced data of 31 aquafarms from six regions around Taiwan were assessed using stochastic production frontier panel. Two alternative functional forms (Cobb-Douglas and Translog production functions) were applied. Results show that the Cobb-Douglas form is an adequate representation of Taiwanese black tiger prawn data, given the specifications of the Translog model. The input elasticities of feed, labor and utility were 0.30, 0.07 and -0.03, respectively. It implied production technology in Taiwan is decreasing return to scale. Stocking density, culture type, survival rate and the dummies of diseases were significant factors affecting aquafarmer’s technical inefficiency. The technical efficiency was 0.79, before the shrimp disease outbreak in 1987 which was higher than the mean technical efficiency (0.46) of all aquafarmers over the 14-year period. After the shrimp disease outbreak, the average technical efficiency was 0.41. |
