中文摘要 | 先秦時代,儒家和墨家並稱為「顯學」。從神權過渡到君權的時代裡,儒家孔子以「知天命」之說回應所處的時空環境,期望達到生命的安立。時代稍晚的墨家墨子,卻以「非命」說批駁當時流行的宿命論,目的也是為了勉人為義貞定人間。考察孔、墨二聖之「命」說,由於二聖天道觀不同,自然所孳演之「命」義亦不同。然而,若探究「知天命」與「非命」之哲學蘊義,孔子強調進德修業為己之學與墨子倡揚從事(強力)哲學追求公義與平等,二說無不是人的自覺與發現,均深具時代開創的意義。孔、墨二聖之說,儘管天道觀迥異,所論之「命」義亦不同,就其終極關懷而言,俱以提振人文精神之昂揚為標的,可謂殊途而同歸。 |
英文摘要 | In the Pre-Chin era, both Confucianism and Moutz were the most popular school of thought. During the time of transition from religious authority to monarchical power, Confucius responded to the tendency of the day with the theory of “Understanding of Decree of Heaven”, and hoped to arrange for life. Then, Moutz criticized the popular Fatalism with the theory of “Anti-Fatalism” in order to set people’s minds at rest. Investigating the theory of Confucius and Moutz, the meanings of “Ming” (命)developed by them were different due to their different spirit belief. However, in the philosophical thinking, both Confucian theory of cultivating oneself and Moutz’s theory of pursuing justice and equality were the same from people’s consciousness and discovery, and were the starting meaning of era. About ultimate concern, the goal of both was increase in high-spirited Humanism in spite of the difference of “Ming” between Confucius and Moutz. They reached the same goal by different routes. |
