中文摘要 | 傳統的語言分析與文法教學常常忽略了由語用學角度來看語言使用時上下文的相關情境,為了要顧及以英文為外語的學習者的文法和語用能力。本研究探討以英文為外語的學習者對於英文分裂句的語言知能與語言表現,受測者為三十七名臺灣的大學在學生,研究過程中使用翻譯練習為前測,並在課程解析後,進行後測。研究結果顯示,除了在語言知能方面了解英文分裂句的句型結構,若能更進一步學習其句型的語用能力,對於學習者的語言表現將會有所助益。本研究且提出以介紹分裂句中的語意預設和訊息結構的功能語法教學法,以期能對臺灣的英語文教學提出實用性參考。 |
英文摘要 | It is known that traditional linguistic analysis of syntax and semantics do not consider the uses of the linguistic forms that they described, whereas pragmatics address language use and is concerned with the contexts, situations, and settings within which language uses occur. In an attempt to better understand EFL learners' developmental stages of grammatical and pragmatic competences, this study investigates how syntactic and semantic properties of English It-Clefts are acquired and interpreted by English as a foreign language (EFL) laerners. A translation task, a treatment and a guided elicited test were administered to 37 Taiwanese learners of English. Results indicate that while EFL learners are aware of the grammatical structure and pragmatic use of English It-clefts conceptually, they rarely produce the target structure in their written texts. These finding suggests that there should be an alternative approach like using the notion of functional sentence perspective (FSL) to facilitate EFL grammer instruction. The possible solution of this pattern and its implications for teaching will be discussed. |
