中文摘要 | 本篇嘗試從釐清《綠窗新話》不必然與說話交涉而是具有固定撰作形製和特定內容訴求的成書性質為基礎,探索全書大量對唐五代小說的採擷收納,即論析《綠窗新話》如何再呈現唐五代小說,作為宋代文言小說對唐五代小說承繼的一個範例。藉由本文的探討,可以得知《綠窗新話》為了符合其小說節選本的形式和廣集風月故事的撰作意圖,不但對於五代小說的故事情節作了大量的刪節,並更積極地刪略或取代了唐五代小說中撰述源由和故事評論部份,同時以「省略」和情節改易的交互運用、使用「概述」取代「場景」和摒卻描寫和說明等敘述跟度的運用來縮減敘述時間,致使唐五代小說在《綠窗新話》由有了不同的敘述面貌,而與原作相較,呈現出情節內在因果的鬆脫、人物形象浮略、主題意涵的消弭與移轉和情境氛圍弱化等敘事效果趨於遜色的差異。但從文學發展的角度思索,《綠窗新話》對唐五代小說的改易也具有相當值得珍視的意義,即編撰者論中有事的評議方式與全書可資博物的功能相應,非常接近話本說書人的角色;同時《綠窗新話》對唐五代小說的改易,也開啟了後世小說、戲曲承繼唐五代小說卻完全扭轉故事意涵的契機。 |
英文摘要 | This paper starts by clarifying that the Luchuangxinhua is not necessarily connected with the Song tradition of oral storytelling, and that it has its own unique compositional method and criteria for selecting stories for inclusion. With this as a basis, we look at how the large amount of fiction taken from the Tang and Five Dynasties fiction is preseted in this work, that is to say, we take the Luchuangxinha as an example of how classical fiction from the Song dynasty builds on works from Tang and Five dynasties. From a discussion of this text, we find that in order to meet both the formal demands of being a compact collection of fiction and the author's intent of assembling a wide collection of romantic tales, the Tang and Five Dynasty stories which appear in the Luchuangxinhua were not only extensively edited, but also the sections in the originals discussing how they came to be written or providing editorial commentary on the stories themselves were either deleted or replaced. Likewise, techniques such as the alternating use of ellipsis and alteration of events, the use of summary to replace scene, and the omission of description and explanatons are used to shorten the narrative duration, thus giving the Tang and Five Dynasties fiction in the Luchuangxinhua a new, different, and even inferior narrative apprarance, one in which , when compared with the originals, internal causality in the flow of the story is diminished, characters are sketched in broader strokes, thematic meaning is weakened or altered, and atmosphere is underdeveloped. Nonetheless, the reworkings of Tang and Five Dynasty fiction in the Luchuangxinhua are important when viewed from the perspective of the development of literature, for the compiler's approach of embedding events within discourse, a feature that is reflected in the book's almost encyclopedic function, makes his role very similar to that of the narrator in the Song tradition of storytelling mentioned aboe. Likewise, the Luchuangxinhua opened the door to writers of fiction and drama in later dynasties to use Tang and Five Dynasty fiction without feeling compelled to remain faithful to the story's original meaning. |
