中文摘要 | 本文中比較三種視窗輔助介面--歷史清單、線性結構、及樹狀結構輔助,探討使用者在進行不同認知層級導覽作業及不同搜尋目的下,此三種輔助介面對使用者在學習性和使用度的影響。實驗結果發現,在輔助介面學習階段,相較於歷史清單及線性結構輔助,樹狀結構使用頻率的提昇發生較晚,顯示樹狀結構的學習過程持續較長。而在問題解決階段,當問題程度為困難,且問題形式為整合型時,受測者利用樹狀結構輔助介面搜尋答案的時間較其他二者為低,而線性結構又比歷史清單所需的時間低,顯示樹狀結構輔助介面在受測者心智負荷較高時呈現較佳的輔助性。然而,依據輔助介面學習階段實驗結果顯示,樹狀結構輔助介面需最長的學習時間,因此,對於實際軟體設計應用上而言,一般性的網頁導覽可使用學習績效及搜尋績效俱佳的線性輔助介面,而對技術性文件等較需高階問題解決的應用,則建議以樹狀結構輔助介面較佳。 |
英文摘要 | Three types of web navigation aids, i.e., historical list, linear structure, and tree structure were compared in this study in order to investigate their learnability and usability to the users in performing navigation tasks at different levels of cognition and navigation purposes. The experimental results showed that during navigation aids training period, the frequency of using tree structure continued to increase until later stage of the whole training period while the frequency of using historical list and linear structure stabilized at middle stage. This may suggest that it is more difficult to learn the tree structure. During problem solving sessions, when the problem level was more difficult involving technical documents and the type of questions was integral that requiring reference of multiple documents, subjects using tree structure answered the question more quickly than the other two navigation aids while linear structure required shorter time than historical list. The results suggest that the tree structure may provide more navigation aids related benefits to subjects performing tasks requiring more mental workload. In terms of practical implications toward software design, since it requires most time to learn the tree structure, thus, for general purpose of navigation, linear structure is recommended due to its high learning efficiency and performance. However, for technology document-based higher level problem solving, tree structure is recommended for its higher performance, and in such cases, the longer time required to master the interface is justifiable. |
