| 英文摘要 | Manufacturers have realized the need to continuously improve their operations to survive and compete successfully. In an effort to increase organizational capabilities, companies have made investments in programs such as Just-in-Time (JIT) and Total Quality Management (TQM). However, benefits from these programs have often been limited because of unreliable or inflexible equipment. Therefore, many companies have looked toward Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to augment their JIT and TQM programs in a drive for continual improvement. TPM has been emphasized since the 1970s in Japan, little attention has been given to TPM in Western countries until the last decade. This paper reports on a TPM system, which has been developed and implemented in an European company. The results show that not only the goal is reached, but also sound tangible and intangible benefits are obtained. |
