中文摘要 | 本文乃經由塑膠基疊層複合材料的放電加工實驗, 探討疊層複合材料在高密度火 花高溫加工後的表面熱影響區、表面粗糙度及幾何尺寸精度,藉以瞭解疊層複合材料經放電 加工後的表面特性。實驗時以加工電流、休止幅╱放電幅時間比為加工參數下,加工電流愈 大電極耗損率愈大,其孔的失真誤差百分比亦愈大。在考量電極耗損率及加工時間之因素下 ,加工電流為中準位( 1 安培)、休止幅╱放電幅時間比以 2 倍之加工條件是較佳的選擇 。 實驗結果顯示,加工後孔的熱影響在平行纖維方向較其它方向嚴重,而垂直纖維方向是熱影 響最輕微之方位。加工不同幾何形狀時,其熱影響區之外貌亦隨之不同。圓孔加工之熱影響 區呈現橢圓形;方孔加工其孔邊與纖維方向平行時,其熱影響區外貌是長方形,而直角位置 由於電荷聚集,故會有電極嚴重耗損,加工後呈圓孤狀之外形且熱影響最嚴重。熱固性基材 之熱影響區只存有殘留裸露之碳纖維而無樹脂保護;熱塑性基材之熱影響區則由殘留碳纖維 及熔化後再重新凝固附著之樹脂所構成。 |
英文摘要 | The electro-discharge machining of polymer matrix composites has been studied experimentally in this work. Machining was performed at various electric currents, various ratios of pulse-off time to pulse-on time, various geometries of the hole, and with different tool materials for carbon fiber reinforced thermoset and thermoplastic matrix. From the experimental results obtained, it was found that higher material removal rate and lower tool wear occur as the ratio of pulse-off time to pulse-on time approaches 2 under a medium current (1 ampere). To understand the surface quality of the composite by electro-discharge machining procedure, the heat-affected zone was observed, and the surface roughness and the geometry of the workpiece were measured. The results indicated that the epoxy was vaporized in the heat-affectedc zone for carbon fiber reinforced with thermoset material. The heat-affected zone became elliptical after electrical discharge with circular holes, and it became rectangular after electrical discharge with square holes of carbon/epoxy. |
