英文摘要 | A CFD solver CFX is used to simulate combustion behavior inside a wall-fired rectangular coal combustor. The results are divided into two parts. The first part validates the combustion model by making a comparison with Zhou's high-velocity jet combustor. The isothermal flow-field prediction is better than Zhou's results. In the coal combustion case, the high temperature gases expand outward and seem to destroy the mechanism that forms the recirculation zones. The high temperature areas are located closer to the wall. However, when the jet velocities are increased, the strength of the recirculation zones is increased and the high temperature gas moves toward the combustor center. The second part involves simulating a rectangular combustor that is equipped with fur wall-fired swirl burners. The operating condition effects on the combustor performance and particle traces are discussed. The results show that the furnace geometry and burner positions affect the performance and particle traces. The strong interactions between the burners and the rectangular boundaries can create a new flow-field, and further, they influence the flame structure. The flame shape gradually changes from four individual "cam" shape flames at the inlet of the combustor into a whole "ring" shaped flame near the exit. |
