英文摘要 | Shopping malls are a newly developed industry in Taiwan. To keep pace with the trend, some operators of supper markets intend to greatly transform their markets into shopping malls. Due to the high density of population and limitation of land in Taiwan, there are several aspects which need to be considered. Are shopping malls suitable for Taiwan? How should a location for a shopping mall be selected? What is the definition of a shopping mall? Few papers study this field. The range for the shopping mall research is comprehensive. They include the shopping mall's layout, facility design, law restrictions, marketing, advertising and so forth. This paper compares Tai Mall (Taoyuan) and Gold Silver Island shopping mall (Kaohsiung), and especially focuses on the consumer's behavior and the malls' administration. Additionally, traffic factors, local economy, commercial areas and other needs are considered. The conclusions can be provided to future developers for their references. |
