中文摘要 | 由於中文的思維模式及表達方式與英文不同,初學英文寫作者往往不能寫出合乎英文語法規則的句子而深感困擾,尤其是遇到英文所獨具的動狀詞片語-不定詞片語、動名詞片語與分詞片語,初學者對於其各種功能與正確使用時機,更是難以駕馭,其中,分詞片語的不同使用時機更是讓初學者困惑不已。造成這些困擾的癥結在於學習者未能掌握英文的從屬與後飾觀念,因此教師應該提供學習者不斷練習,以便了解句子中不同事件之間的關係,進而掌握分詞片語正確的使用時機。本文首先探討分詞片語的各種使用時機,進而再分析造成中國學生未能掌握其用法的原因,最後提出建議,以期學習者能正確運用分詞片語,而使英文句子更簡潔、層次分明,而且活潑生動。 |
英文摘要 | Beginning Chinese EFL learners are bothered by their inability to write grammatical sentences, especially when they cannot find equivalent structures in Chinese. Those three forms of non-finite verbs-the infinitive, the gerund, and the participle (including the present and past participles), are altogether lacking in Chinese. Therefore, Chinese EFL students are confused by different function and correct usages of verbial phrases. Among them, participial phrases are the most confusing ones. Based on the author's teaching experience, it is proposed that students' lack of the concept of subordination and postmodification leads to the fact that participial phrases are difficult to master. In this article, the author begins introducting the function of participial phrases and different opportune moment of using them. Then, the causes of students' inabilities in using participial phrases are discussed. Suggestions for increasing students' ability in mastering the use of participial phrases will be included in the last section. |
