中文摘要 | 非同步傳輸模式(ATM)技術已經被廣泛運用為一提供有彈性且具有高速效能服務和整合現存多種網路的革命性架構。然而非同步傳輸模式應能提供封包服務,但是它的細胞傳送方法卻不能有效的符合封包的服務,尤其在交通量沈重時更差。在此篇論文提出一種新的高速非同步傳輸模式交換機架構,我們採用正交多處機架構(OMP)做基礎,並配合雙埠記憶體來加強中央處理單元,減輕匯流排擁塞的問題,此新的架構稱為加強式正交多處機結構(EOMPA)。本論文同時也應用一個多層的交換方法來適應各式各樣的交通流量。而交換機的效能評估則可以藉著計算細胞傳送和交換機能力來達成。 |
英文摘要 | Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) technique has been widely accepted as a flexible and effective scheme to transport various traffic over the broadband network. However, ATM should provide native packet services, yet the cell relay method of ATM cannot efficiently fit packet service, especially in heavy traffic. This paper presents a new architecture of a high speed ATM switch and its performance evaluation. The proposed switch, called Enhanced OMP architecture (EOMPA), base on the Orthogonal Multiprocessor (OMP) architecture and adopts dual-Port memory to enhance the CPU power. Besides, the bus contention problem will be effective solved. The EOMPA also applies a multi-level switch method to fit the multifarious traffics. Switch performance is evaluated by calculating its cell delay and switch capability. |
