中文摘要 | 本研究參考Green(1989)提出的三項檢視發展理論的規準-理論的適當性、科學的價值性與美學的要求來行行Perry的譇知與道德發展理論的驗證研究。研究的工具是認知與道德發展量表(SID)和感受社會變遷量表,研究的對象為528位國中、高中職和大學的日間部學生。研究結獰發現傳統學生依循架挫途徑正向成長的情形很明顯,不同背景變項的分析發現教育程度、性別與性格和族群對認知與道德發展具有顯著的影響,可見本理論具有適當性。研究者提出Perry架構的二元思考、相對思考和抉擇實踐三個分量表的因素結模模式,以Amos統計軟體加以檢驗,發現其基本適配指數、模式內在品質與外在品質均可,表示理論得到實際資料的證實,符合科學的價值性。另外該架構除了促進個人向上向善發展之外,亦具有水平遷移效果。所以Perry理論獲得初步的驗證。 |
英文摘要 | This research aimed to confirm William Perry's cognitive and ethical development theory with Green's (1989) three criteria for valid developmental theories-developmental adequacy, scientific worthiness and aesthetic appeal. The tools used were the author's revised versions of Scale of Intellectual Development (SID) and Scale of Attitudes towards Social Changes. The subjects of this study were 528 traditional students at junior high and senior high schools and colleges. The major findings were: traditional students show a very clear positive growth along the Perry scheme; education, gender, personality and ethnicity have a significant influence on cognitive and ethical development. Therefore Perry's theory is appropriate. Based on the Perry scheme, the author offered the factor structure models of the three sub-scales-dualism, relativism and commitment, and then tested the fitness of the models with Amos. The assumed model met the preliminary fit criteria and the criteria of fit of internal and external structure of model. In other words, the assumed model was confirmed by the collected data and therefore met the requirements of the scientific worthiness. Also, the Perry scheme can help learners develop toward self-fulfillment and has the effect of decalage, meaning that the scheme can help learn learners learn better in other areas. So the model also met the aesthetic requirements. To sum up, the theory of cognitive and ethical growth was validated in this study. |
