中文摘要 | 現代禪學大師鈴木先生曾推許華嚴五祖兼禪學論師宗密「將『知』視為眾妙之門」。本文即是由此一線索來探討密宗與鈴木之可能關係。本文於比較此兩位禪學大師各自具有代表性的文章之基本論述後指出: 1. 此二者皆具有「一心二門」的思惟方式。密宗的「知」乃是通貫「一心二門」的直接動力與重要關鍵;鈴木的「般若直觀」與「般若邏輯」乃是「一心二門」的間接表述與現代發揮。 2. 就建構「一心二門」的方式,此二者都先剖析「二門」的「對立面」,接著,再討論「一心」的「統一面」。且二者皆強調「覺」在「一心二門」中的重要性。 3. 就「為文意向」而言,此二者各自之文章皆以「一心二門」的基本思惟方式建構其融合異說的理論。密宗旨在融合唐朝諸禪門與各教派間之爭端。鈴木則意圖融合現代東、西方文明的差異。 |
英文摘要 | By comparing two of their essential theses, the author find some striking similarities between two great zen scholars. Tsung-mi's (780-841) central conceptions is "chih (知)" and D. T. Suzuki's (1870-1966) "prajñā-intuition". Nothing the parallel points of these two important ideas, the author argues the following. Firstly, both central conceptions are similarly derived from the same dialectical viewpoint named "yi-hsin-erh-men" (一心二門): the former is a classical traditional Chinese exemplification, while the latter is an innovative modern Japanese interpretation. Secondly, both masters emphasize that the essence of their central conceptions is "enlightenment" (覺), which plays the key role in both their theoretical systems. Thirdy, based upon "yi-hsin-erh-men" pattern, both masters construct their theories of culture systhesis respectively. Tsung-mi attempts to establish his integration and communication theory among different Buddhist sects in Tang Dynasty. Suzuki proposes a theory for synthesizing East and West cultures in modern world. In conclusion, the author justifies for the first time that Tsung-mi has a substantial impact on Suzuki. |
