英文摘要 | Experiment projects involving everyday-life materials can be used to introduce most of the major topics covered in a typical introductory physics class. These activities often provide a sense that everyday objects are closely related to the topics studied in physics, and thus add excitement and enthusiasm to the learning process. This paper presents and successful activity as an example to show how experiment-based study projects can be used as a powerful pedagogy. The activity, entitled "Finding the surface temperature of the Sun using a parked car," entails both outdoor observations and data analysis, and yields a result for the surface temperature of the sun within 6-12% of the accepted value. How is inspired two American high-school students who carried out this project is reported. |
