英文摘要 | The combination of high-speed photography and image processing has successfully quantified the velocity and acceleration of the liquid jet in the breakup region of a coaxial atomizer. A high-speed camera was used to record the breakup of the liquid jet at a rate of 10000 frames per second. The high-speed photographs were transferred to a VHS tape and digitized by an image grabber. An image processing system was used to reduce the noise of the histogram of the spray images by low-pass filter. The histogram was used to determine the breakup length as a function of time. The first and second derivatives of such function were just the velocity and acceleration respectively. The results show that an increase in atomizing air velocity from 30 to 120m/s led to an increase in velocity from 5.6m/s to 14m/s and an increase in acceleration from 15m/s�� to 2300m/s ��. The results suggest that the air flow has the strong effects of aerodynamic and energy transfer on the liquid jet. |
