英文摘要 | In his work entitled History of Chinese Philosophy (I), Lao Si Guang has a unique understanding and interpretation of Zhuang Zi's philosophy. He thinks that Zhuang Zi does not agree with the concept of the Cognitive Self, Physical Self and Moral Self. Hence, he goes on further to insist and approve of the concept of the Aesthetic Self. Basically, Lao came to such a conclusion because of his postulation of "Self" and his understanding of Zhuang Zi. This paper argues that, Lao's postulation does not coincide with Zhuang Zi's philosophy which is heavily weighted on the emphasis of practice. In addition, such a postulation could not bring out the special element of Zhuang Zi's philosophy. Lao's understanding of Zhuang Zi is totally negligent of the relevant traditional interpretations and thus results in this misinterpretation. Matters as such are the main content of discussion. The conclusion of this paper is that Zhuang Zi does not disagree with the concept of the Cognitive Self, Physical Self and Moral Self, nor disagree with the concept of the Aesthetic Self. Instead, he is reflective of the various concepts of "Self". Zhuang Zi's aim is not to create a system, but he endeavors to reorganize the existing system, hence the saying of a man who "adjusts to succeed". |
