英文摘要 | The basic purpose of the study is to propose a mathematical model for thequantitative diagnosis of qixu, xuexu, yinxu and yang in Chinese Traditional Medicint(CTM). Tables of indices (with 235 indices) for the differential diagnosis of qxu,xuexu, yinxu and yangxu. Multistage discriminatory equations (with 43indices),regression equations for qixu and yangxu (with 26 indices), regression andyangxu (with 29 indices) and discriminatory equations for qixu and xuexu (with 24indices) are obtained after an exhaustive study of the case histories of "deficiencies"selected from journals of CTM published in China. By means of the probabilisticmethod, i.e.. the maximum likelihood method, the stepwise regression method, thestepwise discriminatory method, etc. The maximum likelihood method requires independence between thevariables(i.e., the symptoms) and repellence between the events (i.e., the diseases orsyndromes). This is almost impossible in the clinical practice of CTM. However, themethod, which has an advantage of intuitiveness, is easy to be accepted by clinicaldoctors. Since diagnosis by means of this method are reasonably correct, it is now still widely adopted in the medical world. Discriminatory and regression analysis, on theother hand, do not require symptoms or syndromes to have independence andrepellence. Therefore they can better suit the characteristics of the diseases and theirsyndromes in CTM. In establishing mathematical model of the differential diagnosisof qixu, xuexu, yinxu and yangxu, we find that the multistage discriminatory analysisyields a higher percentage of coincidence of diagnosis than the maximum likelihoodmehod; and in the differential diagnosis of qixu, yangxu and xuexu, we have observedthat the stepwise discriminatory analysis. The key to utilizing the electronic computer to simulate the doctor of CTM inmaking diagnosis according to the principle of differentiating symptoms and signs, aswe think, lies in the proposal of a reliable mathematical model embodying thetheoretical systems of CTM. We believe that once the indexes of various syndromesare collected and sorted out, and the corresponding programs of the electroniccomputer are compiled, a computer will be able to simulate the thinking processes ofdiagnosing based upon the principle of differentiating symptoms and signs of CTM. |
