中文摘要 | 本試驗針對檳榔嚼塊之主要組成植物:檳榔子、荖花及荖葉,以水、甲醇和正己烷三種溶劑萃取,所得之抽出物對正常存在人體消化道的八種微生物Staphylococcus aureu、Staphylococcus epidermidis、Streptococcus mutans、Streptococcus sanguis、Escherichia coli、Kelbsiella pneumoniae、Pseudomonas aeruginosa及Candida albicans,進行抑菌性之檢測。結果顯示檳榔、荖花及荖葉之甲醇抽出物對八種微生物之抑制十分顯著,尤以荖花及荖葉之甲醇抽出物效果最佳;而檳榔、荖花及荖葉之水及正己烷抽出物,則無明顯之抑制效果。 |
英文摘要 | The aim of this study was to investigate the antibacterial properties of various extracts of betel quid ingredients including areca nuts (Areca catechu). The leaves and fruits of the betel pepper (Piper betle) were tested on 8 organisms of mouth and digestive system (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus sanguis, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans). Extracts were prepared by n-hexane, methanol and dist. water. The results of the disk diffusion method showed that methanol extracts showed greater antimicrobial activity than their corresponding aqueous and hexane extracts. Among various methanol extracts, especially methanol extracts of betel pepper leaves and betel pepper fruits were found to show potentially interesting activity against test bacteria. These two methanol extracts also showed stronger antibacterial activity against four test Gram-positive bacteria (S. aureus,S. epidermidis,S. mutans and S. sanguis) than the Gram-negative bacteria. |
