中文摘要 | 本研究將虛擬實境(Virtual Reality, VR)應用在科學教育上,嘗試利用VR技術,將空氣污染擴散模擬,建置於以個人電腦為平臺之環境中。如此可將傳統的二維空氣污染擴散模擬,藉由VR的技術提升至三維即時模擬。希望可使觀看者透過本模擬,能對三維擴散現象有更進一層的認知。本模擬之分子擴散模式是採用隨機步模式(Random-Walk model: Monte Carlo model),模式中可設定的環境參數有風速、大氣穩定度及混合層高度等,模擬結果與Stern et al., 1984實驗觀測所得相當接近。運用VR的即時描繪功能,並且充分發揮VR之沉浸、巡行、操控等特性。此外利用VR可以於同一次模擬中可以自由切換視點之特性,使使用者能藉由不同之視點觀察擴散現象,使之對擴散問題有更深入之了解。 本研究VR之實作不論發展或是瀏覽皆以個人電腦為工作平臺,採用Superscape公司的VRT 5.0 VR開發軟體。為達到視覺化沈浸式VR效果,故採用StereoGraphics公司的CrystalEyes 2 立體眼鏡設備,以增強效果。 |
英文摘要 | This study attempts to apply Virtual Reality (VR) technology to science education by building an air pollution diffusion model on a PC-based VR environment. Through VR technology, it is expected that the traditional two-dimensional air pollution diffusion model can be expanded into a three-dimensional nowcast model, with the ability to produce more air diffusion information. In this study, the Random-Walk model is adopted to study the molecule diffusion. Several parameters can be set in the specific model, including wind speed, atmospheric stability, mixing layer height etc. The simulation results are similar to those obtained by Stem, et al. (1984), suggesting that VR technology is appropriate for examining air diffusion in the atmosphere. The results also indicate that VR immersion can be achieved through on–line realtime rendering functions. The VR used in this study was VRT 5.0 developed by Superscape Inc. Note that the VRT 5.0 is a tool kit developed on PCs to integrate the Web and VR technologies. Furthermore, StereoGraphics Inc. CrystalEyes 2 achieved the visual immersion effect in VR. |
