中文摘要 | 本文從日本中世留學僧的殘留日記、書籍、語錄以及書籍目錄類所記錄的老莊書籍等來調查日本鎌倉、室町時代的老莊研究狀況。當時的留學僧帶回不少書籍,但很多都佚失了,有些僅存書目。由這些書目中可探討日本鎌倉、室町時代對老莊的研究情況。另一方面,中世的禪僧操文筆之職,當時的文也以他們為中心,所以老莊之學也由這些禪僧展開。其影響不僅限於中世,甚至持續到近世初期。在平安時代,老莊之學不被承認,大學寮裡沒有老莊的課程。但到了室町時代,除了禪僧之外,當時的博士家清原家也研究老莊。老莊學並且正式成為學校的課程之一。可是在日本鎌倉以後,南北朝、室町時代,老莊學的研究已逐漸有了新的發展。在中國不曾重視的《莊子鬳齋口義》,在日本南北朝已有刊本的出現;不僅如此,明刊本的《老子鬳齋口義》也可見到室町時代禪僧研讀痕跡,並且由室町中期以後有專以口義本為主的趨勢。往後口義盛行不斷,此種情形一直延續到江戶初期。本文除了調查以上所述的有力實證以外,並探討口義本之所以受當時禪僧歡迎之最根本的理由。 |
英文摘要 | While the philosophy of Laozi and Zhuangzi was not accepted by the Japanese government in the Heian Period, it was introduced into academic institutions in the Kenmu Period, and by the Muromachi Period had become one of the regular subjects at the Ashikaga School. From the Kamakura Period to the middle of the Muromachi Period, study of Laozi followed the annotations of Heshang gong, and study of Zhuangzi followed the annotations of Guo Xiang and Xuan Ying. The Zhuangzi Xianzhai Kouyi was written during the Northern and Souuthern Dynasties, and many quotations from this work appear in explanatory notes and commentaries on Zhuangzi in Japan during the idle and late Muromachi Period There is also evidence that the Laozi Xianzhai Kouyi, written in the Ming Dynasty, was read in Japan during the Muromachi Period. While these Kouyi works were not regarded highly in China, they were widely read by Zen priests in Japan, and even quoted by Professor Notikata Kiyohara in his "Zhuangzi Chao" and "Laozijing Chao" lectures. The Kouyi works were favorably received in medieval Japan, and were considered primers on Laozi and Zhuangzi from the middle Muromachi Period to the early Edo Period. This was not only because the Kuoyi works were written in concise colloquial sentences compared with the annotations of Wang Bi, Heshang Gong, Guo Xiang and Xuan Ying, but also because the use of many Zen terms in them made them appealing to Japanese Zen priests. |
