中文摘要 | 就一有般志於對文化傳統進行改革的人而言,文化傳統代表的可能是一種保守的惰性力量;但是,若把文化傳統放在社會現實的層面來看,雖然政治和經濟結構對文化傳統的進展具有影響;但更重要的,文化傳統對於外在結構也具有選擇性,可以說,它對於社會結構的形成具有程度上的決定性。文化傳統在 其內部根本之處有其自主性及不可替代性。由此可知,文化傳統可以有所變革, 但絕不可能完全拋棄。今日我們若意圖對台灣社會文化提出改革的實踐行動,就必須先理解漢民族文化基本精神之真純性和連續性之所在,同時讓社會結構與文化傳統基本精神對話,以期找出一個可被接受而有效的實踐方案。 漢民族文化傳統──或謂中國文化傳統──之基本精神:重群體、重合諧、重傳統的一貫性、重主體意義的滿全,符合這些特性的社會行動才能社會大眾所認同。故當我們意圖要對台灣社會問題就文化層面找出解決異化的行動方案時,可以從這樣的方向進行思考──以解放為目的,以容忍的態度,平等的立場來進 行理性的溝通。因為這樣一方面合乎台灣人所承續的漢民族文化傳統;一方面又可免除墮入「非理性」的危險。 |
英文摘要 | To those who are dedicated to revolutionizing culture, traditional culture could represent a kind of inertia to change. If we were to look at traditional culture from a social perspective, however, despite the fact that political and economic structures influence culture, more importantly traditional culture has the power to choose from these structures. It could be contended that traditional culture is decisive in the formation of social structure. Inherently, traditional culture is decisive in the formation of social structure. Inherently, traditional culture has an independent nature, which means that it can change but can never be completely discarded. If we width to put forth a plan to revolutionize Taiwanese culture, we first must understand the authenticity and continuity of Han culture. Simultaneously, we then could allow a discourse between social structure and the spirit of traditional culture. This in turn would hopefully lead to an acceptable and effective plan for practical change. The spirit of traditional Han culture, or traditional Chinese culture, emphasized the group, harmony, consistency of tradition and complete subjective meaning. Acceptance of phenomenon by society at large depends on the fulfillment of the above criteria. Subsequently, if we are to find a suitable plan to combat alienation in Taiwanese Society, we cold proceed from a goal of liberation, and attitude of tolerance and a stance of equality in pursuing rational discourse. This could then lead to the continual acceptance of Han culture by the Taiwanese as well as the avoidance of the danger of an “irrational” discourse. |
