中文摘要 | 在臺灣,教學視導系統的理念正在萌芽之中,許多從事教育工作的學者,瞭解其 需求,但視導系統尚未被廣泛的接受與採用。視導系統應使是一種正式的,有系統的,且持 續不斷的過程,其目的在幫助教師改進教學以提高教學品質。為了達到上述的目標,研究者 檢視了當今美國公私立學校之教學視導系統與規準,在經過研究並比較其優缺點後,以其結 論做為基礎,發展出一種適用於臺灣中等學校之教學視導系統及視導規準。 參與的學者、專家、校長與教師們在多次研討會中共同討論並修訂教學視導之工具規準後, 為了確保工具的可信度(信度)和有效性(效度),研究者邀請美國視導系統之專家 Dr.Judith Slater到台灣,利用此一視導系統及規準來評鑑當地英文老師之教學,結果支持 了此一視導系統之可行性及可用性。 教學視導制度及規準在臺北市私立復興中學英文科經過三年的實驗結果顯示,因教學視導制 度之推行,教學在教學法之改變,使得學生聽與說的能力大幅增加,而讀與寫之能力亦從聯 考平均分進步10分左右之成績顯示出來。 為了能夠提昇教學品質,使得每一個受教的學生都能接受良好之教育,採用教學視導系統來 幫助教師改進教學應是教改聲中刻不容緩的工作了。 |
英文摘要 | In Taiwan, R.O.C. a formal system for teacher evaluation has not yet been developed. An evaluation system should be systematic, formal, and a continual process that serves as a strategy to refine the quality of education. The purpose of teacher evaluation system is to help teachers improve their teaching in order to increase the quality of education. The researcher examined what elements define an effective teacher and how effectiveness could be assessed and selected existing teacher evaluation systems in use in the United States in order to select those elements that could be applicable to the Taiwan educational system. An evaluation instrument was identified and modified through the systemic use of participant stakeholders at seminars and conferences on effective teaching. Criterion of teacher effectiveness were identified and modified in the development of a teacher evaluation model. To ensure the reliability and validity of the instrument, a trained expert used the instrument in a trial evaluation of an English teacher in Taiwan and the results were compared to local administration. The instrument was modified, based on implementation recommendations. The teacher evaluation system has been in use in the English Department of Fu Hsing Middle School since 1995. The results show that students ability in listening and speaking has been greatly improved due to the changing of teaching strategies. Reading and writing ability also has been improved. This study found that teacher evaluation system can be used in Taiwan in order to improve the quality of teacher effectiveness. |
