英文摘要 | The problem of insecticide residues on vegetables has arrested public attention. An experiment was therefore conducted in order to find out the possibility of removing or reducing residues by washing or cooking. Cabbage was used as the testing material for this study. The cabbage were grown in a field of the institute. No insecticide was used during the growing period. After harvest, parathion was applied by the dripping technique with rates of 1, 5 and 10 ppm, 300 gm of each rate of the chemical were dripped evenly on the underneath surface of the testing cabbage leaves. After air dry for 12 hours, the leaves were washed with running tap water for 5 minutes, the other treatments were: fry the cabbage in lard, cook them in water or dip them in Amikan-K or Li-Tai detergent. When all the necessary steps were completed, the leaves were ready for both chemical analysis and bioassay testing. The chemical analysis was made by the colormetric method developed by Averell and Norris. Three day old Musca domestica and dry-film method were used for bioassay. Results (table 1) showed that washing reduced the residues to low level, samples with 1, 5 and 10 ppm of parathion reduced 39, 42 and 52% respectively after the treatment. Samples dipped both in Li-Tai detergent and Amikan-K reduced most the residues too. Concerning the duration of dipping, 5 minutes seemed to be long enough for the purpose. The reduction of residues were significant after cabbage was fried in lard or cooked in water. Residues in soup were higher than that in cooked cabbage. Parathion residues on cabbage can be reduced by the treatments tested in these experiment, however, none of the treatments can remove the residues below the tolerance rate of 1 ppm, if the initial residuce is 10 ppm. Resurlts of bioassay as well as chemical analysis indicated the possibility of removing or reducing residues by washing and cooking methods. It seemed that chemical analysis method can detect more residues than bioassay. Though the existance of nitro radical in hydrolyzed parathion was mostly removed with sodium bicarbonate solution. This might explain the chemical analysis and bioassay which showed the degree difference of elimination. |
