英文摘要 | 1. There are five indigenous species of the genus Glycine found in Taiwan, i.e., Glycine formosana HOSOKAWA, G tomentella HAY, G. tomentella HAY, G. tomentosa BENTH, G. tabacina BENTH, and G. clandestina WENDLE. Special attention were given in growing these wild species with Glycine ussuriensis REGEL et MAACK and G. javonica for the observation of their characteristics such as morphology, growth habit and the cytological studies, except Glycine clandestina. 2. For meiotic studies the flower buds were fixed in freshly prepared Farmer's Fliud (acetic-alcohol in 3:1) for 15-20 min., and the anthers were squashed in 70% alcohol then stained with 1% propionic carmine. Warming the slide and pressing furthered a better spreading of chromosomes. 3. These Glycine spp. are not only distinct from the cultivate species, G. max, both in growth habit and morphology, but also distinct from each other in many characters (see table 1). 4. Glycine formosana appears to be similar to Glycine ussuriensis in many important characters, viz., growth habit, morphology (except the seed size and width of leaflet), the number and shape of chromosomes. Therefore we assume that they are but different ecotypes of the same species. (see fig.3 and fig.6). 5. Although Glycine tomentosa is distinct from G. tomentella in many morphological characters and growth habit, the size and shape of thier flower cluster and flowers are similar (see fig. 3). They also have the same chromosome (n=40)(see fig. 6, E, F.) They are the tetraploid forms of this genus and seem to be closely related to each other acccording to our preliminary observation. 6. The chromosome number of Glycine tabacina which cultivated in our labortory is n=14 (see fig. 6, G.) and the number of another is 5, we assume it does not beling the Glycine spp. |
