中文摘要 | 利用4批木瓜(Carica papaya L.)種子,就其發芽過程中水分含量及其幼苗形態的變化進行探討。結果顯示木瓜種子發芽過程中形態的變化分為浸潤吸水期、種皮開裂期、胚根萌發期、次生根與下胚軸伸長期及種皮與珠心膜脫離子葉等五個階段。種子吸水發芽過程中水分含量的變化,可利用胚乳及胚的水分含量為基準,將種子置床至胚根萌發過程區分為四個階段,分別為浸潤吸水期、吸水停滯期、種皮開裂期及胚根萌發期。水分含量6.2%的乾燥種子,胚乳及胚的水分含量為3.9%,置床後24小時為25.7%,3-5天種皮未裂開時為27.0%,種皮開裂時(3-6天)為44.2%,胚根萌發時(5-8天)為61.6%。 |
英文摘要 | Papaya (Carica papaya L.), one of the most important economical fruits in Taiwan, is usually propagated by seeds. As the germination rate and uniformity of the commercially available seeds are usually poor, physiological characters related to germination should be further studied. The purpose of this study was to define the changes in morphology and the associated variation in moisture content in papaya seeds throughout the whole germination course. Based on morphological examination, the germination process could be classified into five stage, i.e., imbibition; seedcoat cracking; radicle emergence; elongation of secondary roots and hypocotl; and separation of cotyledons from seedcoat and nucellar membrane. Changes of moisture content at various stages during radicle emergence could be decided by the moisture content of embryo and endosperm. The initial moisture content of seed and embryo plus endosperm were, respectively, 6.2% and 3.9%. The moisture content of embryo plus endosperm was 25.7% and 24 hr after incubation, 27.0% before seedcoat cracking (3-5 days after incubation), 44.2% at seedcoat cracking (3-6 days after incubation), 61.6% at radicle emergence (5-8 days after incubation). |
