英文摘要 | A novel PC based controller for 3D free-form surface machining has been developed. The controller can accept different IGES files and then generate commands with tool compensation to implement the interpolations and machining control in real-time, unlike the traditional way of generating a great deal of NC codes, such as G01, G02, G03. The controller can reduce the 3D contour error, interpolation error, and even the corner error by the feedback of the positions of the 3 axes. The controller also applies feeedforward compensations by extracting the information of velocities and accelerations from the given trajectory to add to the generated commands, so that it can avoid a large error for the high federate machining. We evaluate the performance of the proposed controller in a retrofitted 3-axis machining center which has its each AC servo motor directly connected the ball screw without gear reduction pairs in between. In the experiment, the free form surface for machining is represented by a B-spline parametric form. A new in-situ measurement method is developed to obtain the contour error after machining. The function of the revised measurement devices is similar to that of a simple CMM. The benefit of the insitu measurement is that we can implement one more machining to improve the precision of the parts based on the compensation of the contour error we have just measured. |
