英文摘要 | Evaluation of stress intensity factor related to fracture mechanics in orthotropic materials is based on theoretically verified methods. The experimental technique was first done by A. Shukla, Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Rhode Island. Although we have followed his basic idea, we have extended it to some additional experimental set-ups. Theoretical equations are being developed in the vicinity of the crack-notch and on optimization of the location. Correlation of the results to those from a different system of strain gages and theoretical evaluated ones is providing us with interesting information. Finally, the usage of the method in the investigation of the response of new materials and alternatives of extension of it to other fields is being discussed. |
