英文摘要 | In "On Some Motifs in Baudelaire," Benjamin has arrived at the conclusion that Baudelaire's lyric is essentially triggered by the experience of shock. In the meantime, in his illumination of the shock experience brought by the sway of modernity, Benjamin proposes a differentiation of two kinds of experience: Erfahrung and Erlebnis. This essay is mainly divided into three parts. The first section will focus on the significance and centrality of the concept of experience in Benjamin's oeuvre and how Benjamin formulates a very personal theoretical system of "experience." The subsequent part comes to be an attempt to explicate how Benjamin appropriates Freudian psychoanalysis to endow the concept of "shock" with a novel psychological implication. The last part will alludes to Benjamin's another important essay "The Storyteller" to shed some light on the intricacy between the alienation of experience and the transmutation of different literary genres. |
