| 英文摘要 | On the basis of extensive textual research on Song Dynasty writings, the author has obtained a new understanding of the "tinned coins" of Emperor Huizong (1101-1125). Research results include the following: I.So-called "tinned coins" were primarily composed of iron rather than copper-in fact, no copper "tinned coins" were minted during the Song Dynasty; 2. "tinned coins" did not include lead, but were rather composed of a tiniron alloy; S.While the original idea of casting "tinned coins" was to p revent the Liao and Xixia peoples from smelting them into weapons, the purpose of Prime Minister Jing Cai in introducing such coins was to make up for a shortage of coinage and gather up more valuable coins previously in circulation to handle a government financial crisis. |
