英文摘要 | Cyclic olefin copolymers (COC), a potential high valued engineering plastic, are expecting to be widely used in the optical, electronics and bio- medical applications. Typically, COC polymers can be prepared by using Metallocene catalysts to provide polymers with random co-monomer distribution. Thereby, the resulting COC are amorphous and highly transparent polymers with exceptional physical properties including low moisture absorption, good chemical resistance, low birefringence and superior mechanical strength etc. In this article, processes for the preparation of COC polymers will be briefly introduced and compared with a special emphasis on the Hoechst's current technology. The reaction process developed by UCL, ITRI will also be included in this article. |
