中文摘要 | 一般談到Intranet Web-based應用系統優於Client/Server應用系統的比較時,常會 提及Client端程式之安裝及維護成本這一項。Intranet以browser為一致化的客戶端(Uniform Client),所有新版程式例如HTML pages、java appletes或ActiveX controls等均可以透過HTTP 從Web Server自動傳送到browser上執行。但是Client/Server應用系統一旦有新版程式產生, 則維護人員一定要到每一個Client端逐一更新程式。然而,只要有周延的設計,Client/Server 應用系統的Client端仍然可以像Intranet一樣具備自動更新的功能。本文將以在TRAIS (Telecommunication Regulation Administration information System)應用系統中,如何利用 Microsoft Windows Internet API (Wininet)設計-高效率的新版程式自動更新機制。 |
英文摘要 | As referring to the superiority of Intranet Web-based applications over the Client/Server applications, the cost fo installation and maintenance of client programs is a critical point. For Intranet, the new version programs such as HTML pages、java appletes or ActiveX controls could be automatically downloaaaaaaaded to the browser via the HTTP. In contrast, the new version client programs of Client/Server Applications should be installed on every client site one by one manually. In TRAIS, we developed a "Version Update program" to achieve the same automatically updating functionality as Intranet does. This article shares our experiences of developing such a mechanism for Client/Server applications by using the Windows Internet API (WinInet). |
