中文摘要 | 重覆收集、整理、比對大量癌症病患的資料,一直是臨床醫師在研究時所深以 為苦的事。因此,癌症病患資料庫系統的建立,便顯得益形重要。經由系統性的資料儲存 過程,資料庫系統可以快速而有效地整合、分析大量的資料,幫助研究及臨床工作的進行 。因此,我們遂嚐試自行建立一個鼻咽癌病患的資料庫系統。本研究中,我們先以市售軟 體Microsoft Access97,建立整個鼻咽癌病患資料庫的檔案結構,再逐一將病患的各項臨 床資料輸入。經過反覆的資料庫修正及資料的輸入,完成整個資料庫系統。建構過程的歷 時4個月。系統完成後,經實地測試結果,能有效各項整合、分析鼻咽癌病患的各項臨床 資料,且可以在門診直接修改或輸入病患資料,維持資料庫在最新的狀態。它也可以找出 失去定期追蹤的病患,並對醫師診療及追蹤研究提供相當的助益。總括來說,這個資料庫 系統的各項表現,大致上令人滿意。該軟體簡單、易學,不須經由程式語言,即可建立一 相當實用之資料庫系統。對想自己建立資料庫系統的臨床醫師來說,是不錯的選擇。 |
英文摘要 | One of the most laborious task that clinicians face in their research, is the management of clinical data for cancer patients, which involves repetitive collection, organization and comparison of excessive amount of information. To alleviate such burden, the establishment of a database for these patients is of importance. Through systematic storage procedure, large amount of information in a database can be integrated and analyzed both rapidly and effectively, which in turn will improve the efficiencies of research and clinical studies. Therefore, an attempt was made to set up a database for patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma, using the Microsoft Access 97 software. The file structure of the database was first constructed before various clinical data of individual patient with nasopha ryngeal carcinoma (NPC) being introduced. After a number of modifications on the database structure and input items, the database was completed in four months time. Results from field tests showed that the database could effectively integrate and analyze various clinical data for NPC patients. Information of individual patient could also be introduced or edited directly during outpatient visits, to keep the database up to date. Furthermore, the database could also help to keep track of patients who did not show up for regular follow up visits. All these features could help a physician to monitor both clinical and research studies more closely. In conclusion, the present database system provided satisfactory general performance. The software being used to set up the present database was a reasonable choice, because of its ease to learn and use, together with the fact that setting up the database required no programming language. |
