英文摘要 | Homeostasis of the organism is maintained by a delicate balance between control systems of opposite directions, which may correspond with the Chinese philosophical notions of yin and yang. In the field of pain and analgesia, opioid peptides have been recognized as powerful mechanisms for the pain-inhibitory system, and it is logical to search for their counterpart, the anti-opioid substances, cholecystokinin octapeptide (CCK-8) is one of the most effective and well-studied. Electroacupuncture can accelerate the release of opioid peptides in the central nervous system. The relative effectiveness of electroacupuncture analgesia and morphine analgesia depends on the balance of opioid peptides and anti-opioid peptides in the central nervous system. The evidence is as follows: 1.The basal pain threshold is positively correlated with the effectiveness of electroacupuncture analgesia. 2.Electroacupuncture analgesia is positively correlated with with morphine analgesia. 3.Wistar rats show a bimodal distribution of low and high responders for electroacupuncture analgesia. 4.Opioid peptides acceleate the release of CCK-8 through its interaction with u and k receptors. 5.Rats can be changed from low responders into high responders and vice cersa via gene manipulations, i.e., the effectiveness of electroacupuncture analgesia is decreased by intracerebral transfection of CCK cDNA, and increased by the transfection of CCK antisense RNA. |
