英文摘要 | After forty years of Ziegler and Natta's invention of transition metal catalyzed polymerization of α -olefins, we are witnessing the evolution of new generation of catalysts and polyolefin materials. In 1980's Professor Walter Kaminsky from University of Hamburg reported the use of a metallocene with methylaluminoxane, characterized reaction product of water and an aluminum alkyl, to form highly active and extremely long lived catalyst for ethylene polymerization. Since then, much effort has devoted to research in metallocene based polymerization systems. Several process utilizing metal- locenes have been commercialized. As a result, polyolefin industries jumped into a new era. A general overview of commercial polyethylene technology, which covers catalysts and production process, are included. |
