中文摘要 | 本文係根據廠商使用電腦及五種自動化設備的情形作為直接衡量先進技術的指標,以探討廠商對先進技術的採用與員工工資報酬之關係。在計量方法上,我們將廠商的技術採用視為是一項內生決策,利用聯立模型同時分析技術的採用與工資的決定。透過臺灣電子業的實證結果發現,相較於沒有採用任何先進設備的廠商,使用先進設備的廠商所技術員工薪資明顯較高,而隨著廠商使用先進設備種類的增加,技術員工的薪資也有提高的現象。此外,規模較大、資本密集度較高,以及擁有外資股權的廠商,其員工亦有較高的薪資報酬。由技術採用的決策故計顯示,廠商所技付的工資水準愈高,使用先進設備的機率愈高,而且採用的先進設備種類也愈多。因此,本文支持技術的採用與工資報酬二者之間具有相互影響關係。 |
英文摘要 | This article uses direct information on technology use to examine the technology-wage relationship. Specific technologies considered include computer equipment and five different automation machines. Our econometric model includes controls for endogenous adoptions of new technologies. Using a sample of Taiwan electronics firms, we find that firms use advance technologies pay skilled-worker higher wages than firms with no technologies. Firms using more advanced technologies also pay higher wages to skilled workers. In additions, firms with larger scales, that have higher capital-labor ratios, or that are foreign-owned tend to have higher wages. For technology adoption decisions, firms with higher wages have a higher probability of adopting new technology and employing more advanced technologies. Our results suggest the simultaneity of technology-wage relationship. |
