英文摘要 | Many attachments and retentive devices are used to improve the mechanical stability and retention of the prostheses. Most of these attachments require adjustment or replacement due to wear. Magnets can overcome these problems. The development of new cobalt and rare earth magnet alloys has greatly extended the potential application of magnetic retention in the prostheses. Effects of magnetic fields on tissues have been investigated extensively, but no damaging tissue effects on dental applications. It transfers less force to the aboument which is most important. In the next decade, as the newer rare earth alloys beome available magnetic attachments will become smaller and stronger. |
