中文摘要 | 目的:嬰幼兒早期所接受的文化刺激對兒童認知發展有著極為重要的關係。家庭 環境評量表 (Home Observation for Measurement of the Environment Inventory, 簡稱 HOME), 是美國兒童發展學者為具體評估兒童早期生活環境所提供之支持、刺激及文化營養 之質與量所發展出的量表,HOME 在國外已使用多年,相關研究也發現,HOME 得分與兒童認 知發展,甚至往後之學業成績之間均有顯著正相關,國內則仍缺乏相關研究。本文作者們有 機會參與一項以 179 名嬰幼兒為對象之 12 年追蹤研究計妄, 過程申收集我國嬰幼兒智商 、一般發展商數及家庭環境評量表得分等資料,並做其間相關性之研究。方法:以年齡 3-6 歲之 179 名幼兒為研究對象, 以比西量表測其智商 (SBIQs), 學齡前兒童行為發展量表 (CCDI) 測其一般發展商數 (GDQ),並求其與 HOM 三得分間之相關。結果:(1)HOME 量表中 各分項得分及總分均與 SBIQs 之間有顯著正相關, 且並無男、女差異。 (2)HOM 三得分與 GDQ 問的相關以 4-5 歲年齡層較為明顯,且女孩比男孩更具有統計上意義。 結論:以我國 幼兒為研究對象,發現 HOME 得分與兒童認知發展之間有顯著正相關,此結果與國外文獻類 似。因此 HOME 值得進一步推廣,尤其針對發展遲緩兒童,以利早期發現不利於兒童發展的 環境,並採取適當之改善措施。 |
英文摘要 | Objectives: It is well-recognized that the environment plays a central role in children's health and development. Numerous studies have demonstrated a strong link between cognitive development and the quality and quantity of stimulation available in the early home environment. The HOME Inventory scale designed by Bradley and Caldwell measures the quality and quantity of developmental support available in a child's home environment. The objective of this study was to examine the relationship between HOME examine me relations scores, children's IQ and quotient of Taiwanese this longitudinal study Taiwanese children, we ated the development o this longitudinal period d n a child's home enre of this study was to ihip between HOME id general development children. Methods: In this longitudinal study of a group of 179 Taiwanesechildren, we simultaneously evaluated the development of each subject once in using CCDI and SBIQ when they were 3-6 years old. In addition, HOME Inventory scale was assessed in all of the children. Results: A significant correlation was found between HOME scores and the SBIQs. Among all of the HOME subscales, the strongest correlation with SBIQs scores were "toys, games, and reading materials", "language stimulation", "stimulation of academic behaviors", "total scores", followed by "variety of stimulation", respectively. No significant correlation was found between GDQs of CCDI and HOME scores. Conclusion: These results suggest that the Home Inventory might be useful in identifing which environmental factors are associated with developmental delay, and thereby suggest clues for appropriate intervention.
