英文摘要 | Counseling is the basis of school guidance. Since there are many difficulties in implementing counseling work, school guidance-teachers most find ways to solve their own difficulties. Four well-cespected senior high school guidance-teachers, who have been teaching in school for over 16 years, were invited for an in-depth interview with the researcher. Through analyzing their practical experiences, some concrete suggestions and strategies for other guidance-teachers are proposed to implement counseling work in school. The data from the interview were analyzed using methods of narrative and action strategy. The three main findings are as follows: First, counseling work should combine with other kinds of guidance programs, including acknowledging the importance of the role of the guidance-teacher, acknowledging other jobs with the same value as counseling, finding balance among these multiple roles, and building relationships between teachers and students. Second, student-counseling work should be extended from the counseling office onto campus. Action strategies include understanding the teachers' needs, cooperating with them, creating and mastering administrative resources, maintaining relationships with students, understanding the principle of confidence, and using the case conference. Third, guidance-teachers can serve as bridge connecting school and community through the experience of helping mental disorder students. |
