英文摘要 | During the Kuang-shi Period, Peking Opera established a leading position for itself in Shanghai theater. As a result of cooperation among the Anhui opera Troupes, Pangtzu and Peking opera were transformed into a refreshing blend of local artistic quality, known as Southern Peking Opera. During the Japanese-ruled period, a large number of troupes from Shanghai's Peking Opera came to perform in Taiwan, acquainting the Taiwanese people with the art of Southern Peking Opera. Artists who stayed on in Taiwan were invited to serve as mentors in local opera troupes of fraternities. As a result, Peking Opera was introduced and spread to the local masses. It also greatly influenced the development of Taiwanese Opera. Although rated as the most significant drama exchange in the history of Taiwanese Opera since the Han people became involved with local home opera in the early Ching Dynasty, relevant research on this particular subject is very limited. Information used by current researchers is mostly quoted from Lu Su-shang's "History of Taiwanese Reking Opera", in "A History of Cinema and Drama in Taiwan". However, a large number of these researchers have not acknowledged its limitations and errors, nor have they verified its references. This article is based on the following sources: relevant reports recorded in the New Taiwan Daily News, which recorded a majority of old drama programs performed during the Japanese-ruled period; 21 plays listed in Lu's book about the Shanghai Opera Troupe's performances in Taiwan; Hsu Ping-den's article on "Tainan Local Opera"; and relevant articles recorded in drama publications from Mainland China. The article provides an analysis on the performance of shanghai's Peking Opera Troupes in Taiwan during the Japanese-ruled period and its impact on Taiwanese local opera, with the hope that the findings can shed light on the development of modern opera in Taiwan. |
