英文摘要 | Background: This study was designed to evaluate the use of abdominal ultrasound in the detection of blunt splenic injuries requiring surgical repair or nonsurgical treatment. Materials and Methods: Fifteen patients from a total of 31 who had been investigated for suspected blunt abdominal trauma were retrospectively reviewed. All patients underwent abdominal evaluation as part of routine trauma protocol within the first minutes of arrival at our emergency center. Results: Hemoperitoneum, perisplenic fluid and splenic parenchymal damage were correctly identified using ultrasound with a sensitivity of 93.3% (14/15), specificity of 100% (16/16) and accuracy of 96.8% (30/31), respectively. Conclusions: We regard abdominal ultrasound as an important and integral part of the work-up for spleen trauma victims. It is difficult to establish a 'gold standard' for the different imaging methods used in a clinical population that heals largely without surgery. |
