中文摘要 | 對語言學習者而言,學習動機一直被視為影響語言學習成敗的決定性因素,尤其 是對第二種語言學習者為甚。就一位學習第二語言者的動機而影響語言學習成敗而論,研究 此方面的學者們已提出許多卓見:其中一些學者認為與心理的種種層面有關,有一些則提出 二分法 -- 工具性的傾向或融合他族性的傾向,且有一些則稱二分法中彼此有部份重疊,或 與別的傾向有關連,仍然有些學者則以為上述二分法的傾向彼此並未相互排斥而可融為一體 。雖然學者就學習動機對於學習第二種語言之成敗已著墨甚多,但其視融合他族性的傾向為 學習第二種語言所衍生的結果論者迄今不多,故未來研究應著重於學習動機在各年齡族群、 其他學習背景所衍生的結果性影響,以利往後語言之學習與教學。 |
英文摘要 | Motivation has been viewed as a crucial incentive for a language learner which has a great influence on any language learning; in the meantime, motivation indeed plays a fatal part in success or failure of second language learning. In general, as far as a learner's motivation for language study it goes, a number of researchers raise their significant concepts of motivation in learning a second language related to, more or less, psychological aspects. Some have a tendency to divide motivation into two major parts: "instrumental" or "integrative" orientation, others maintain that the two categories above may be partly covered with each other or mixed up in another orientation, and still others claim that the two types of motivation are not necessarily exclusive with each other, but they can involve a mixture. The most important task for researchers should highlight the resultative impacts of motivation in other age groups and other settings so that in future research they can be helpful to us in second-language learning and teaching. |
