英文摘要 | This study investigated 46 preservice and 51 inservice junior high school teachers' perceptions regarding the effectiveness of their teacher preparation programs in Taiwan. The measurements used in this study were the Likert-scale questions based on the interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (INTASC) standards and perceived problems in teaching and three open-ended questions on the overall teacher preparation programs. Data indicated that significant differences existed (a) between preservice and inservice teachers in the components of knowledge and performance of teaching, b) between preservice and inservice teachers from different subject specializations, and (c) between teachers from traditional and altemative preparation programs at the levels of knowledge and disposition. In addition, preservice and inservice teachers had similar concerns about their teaching problems. They made similar recommendations on courses in the programs. Preservice teachers gave additional recommendations on teaching practicum and instructors, while inservice teachers gave other recommendations on inservice training and the preparation and recruitment of teachers. |
