英文摘要 | A color difference formula is very important for industrial application such as tolerance pass/fail control, assessment of metamerism and color constancy, color fidelity evaluation of different color reproduction systems and a uniform color space for industrial design. There are large differences between their structures of the present color difference formulae, which are suitable only for predicting small to medium size color differences. Hence, there is a need to study large color differences for industries such as color reproduction and industrial design. A large-scale experiment (GGS) was carried out in the previous study. The experimental results and several data sets were collected to derive a new color difference formula (GLAB) for evaluating large color differences. The weights of lightness and chroma for GLAB are about 3/4 and 1/3 in comparison with CIE94, respectively. This means that the evaluations of the perceived color difference between a pair of colored samples have significant difference on the comparison between large and small sample pairs. The data sets were used to test CIELAB, CMC, BFD, CIE94 and the newly developed GLAB color difference formulae. The results revealed that GLAB could give a reasonable prediction to almost all data sets. The performance of the GLAB color difference formula was also tested using two additional data sets (GPC, GP) and proved to be significantly better than that of the others formulae. |
