中文摘要 | Before 1993, case reports of Vibrio cholerae serogroup non-O1 were not required in Taiwan and many other countries because they are usually a mild illness. A large-scale epidemic was reported in India and Bangladesh in late 1992 which was caused by a new serogroup of V. cholerae non-O1, designated V. cholerae O139 in 1993. Infections caused by V. cholerae O139 were considered as cholera because they showed indistinguishable clinical and epidemiological pictures from the toxigenic V. cholerae O1. In 1996, a large food-borne outbreak and several sporadic cases of V. cholerae non-O1 were confirmed by this Institute. Currently, serogroupings of these V. cholerae non-O1 isolates were unavailable in the central laboratory of Taiwan because of the limited supply of antisera. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) with NotI restriction digestions was adopted for subtyping of these isolates in this study. Twenty-three isolates from different sources were subtyped and nine PFGE patterns were found. These preliminary results indicate that the PFGE method is suitable for genotyping of these marine bacteria in epidemiological studies. |
英文摘要 | 非O1霍亂菌(Vibrio cholerae non-O1) 所引發之臨床症狀屬較輕微,以往並未列 入霍亂疫情通報體系中。1992 年末,印度大陸發現新型 non-01 霍亂菌株,即V. cholerae O139,快速蔓延至東南亞,引起世界衛生組織相當重視,在防疫上以霍亂看待此新興之霍亂 菌。 non-O1 霍亂菌血清分型,因國內無法獲得有關試劑,故血清分型未能執行。然國內於 1996年間亦有non-O1霍亂菌引發之群突發與散發案例,本研究以脈場膠電泳法 (pulsed-field gel electrophoresis, PFGE) 進行基因組分型 (genotyping),以限制酵素 Not I 切割,所收集之 23 株 non-O1 霍亂菌經脈場膠電泳法可分為 9 型。PFGE 法分辨力 強,適合於提供疫病發生時判定分離株相似性之參考。 |
