中文摘要 | 本文嘗試整理西方從古典到當代的宗教社會學研究成果,探討巫術、宗教與科學 所代表之「世界圖像」的意義。本文共分六節,前言之後,第二節回顧涂爾幹、韋伯等人 對巫術與宗教間關係的看法,並介紹杜克斯就「世界圖像」之邏輯所做的剖析。第三節處 理科學興起後,對傳統之「世界圖像」的挑戰。第四節則反省西方學者提出之「世俗化」 論題,透過盧曼等人的觀點,來解釋新興宗教運動在現代社會蓬勃發展的理由。第五節再 將前述的討論應用來觀察與分析臺灣的例證。最後,本文的結論試圖指出,巫術與宗教的 神秘經驗,皆有其社群基礎,其功能並非科學可以一體取代,尤其臺灣並未歷經「解除魔 咒」的階段,各種傳統與新興宗教不只更容易傳播,在種種生活風險與不確定性日益增加 的情況下,巫術與宗教的「世界圖像」反而可能擴大其影響力,這也是各種「宗教詐騙」 是件層出不窮的社會背景。 |
英文摘要 | This paper concern about the "Weltbild"(world picture or world image) of magic, religion, and science. In order to understand the difference between these three kinds of world picture, the first part of this paper will review traditions of the sociology of religion, then the German sociologist Grenter Dux's theory about the "logic" of world picture will be discussed. In the second part, it is suggested that the thesis of "secularization" should be revised because the New Religious Movement (NRM) have increased its influence world wide, and the viewpoint of Niklas Luhmann can be applied to explain this phenomenon. Finally, the case of NRM in Taiwan will be examined, it is argued that the process of "disenchantment of the world" (Max Weber) hasn't completed in Taiwan, so the world pictures of magic and religion still have great power, expecially in the field of modern life where risk and uncertainty dominate. This is also one of the factors to explain why the problem of "religious crime" have increasing in Taiwan. |
