英文摘要 | The question “Where do the sign link up with the world?” is of pivoted significance in Wittgenstein's whole philosophy. The starting-point of his later concept of the world is based on a critical reflection of his early concept of language. The meaning of language cannot be given by what is in the world, but how we use language; the grammar of each particular language-game. Language is not a representation of the world, but a form of representation. The use of language itself is a creative practice; it expresses how we look at the world. What is of importance is how we look at things, not how things are in themselves. The world is the “world” I perceive, it is a kind of Weltanschauung. Hence, how the world is is a question of the will, not understanding. |
