英文摘要 | Polypropylene terephthalate (PPT) has the chemical resistance of polyester and elastic recovery of nylon. The desirable properties of both polyester and nylons makes PPT an ideal fiber for carpets and many other textile applications. In glass-reinforced formulations, the outstanding stregth, toughness, and stifness at moderate glass loading allow PPT polymer to compete engineering thermoplastic applications. The commercial process developed by Degussa for synthesizing 1,3- PDO is based on hydration of acrolein followed by hydrogenation. Shell Chemical Corproation has recently developed a process based on hydroformylation of ethylene oxide. DuPont is collaborating with Genencor to develop a biological production process for 1,3-PDO. Shell Chemical has developed a commercial process for producing PPT under the trade mark Corterra . The future of developing PPT is highly promising in that the material cost of 1,3-PDO can be reduced. |
